Good windstopper but its not waterproof

A few days ago I went out into the bush with the basha. It was the first time I had used it in heavy constant rain, and it is unfortunately not waterproof. It kept me mostly dry overnight but once it got soaked it started getting through and creating multiple droplets on the underside of the tarp. I stayed relatively dry but some water got onto my electrical power bank and it unfortunately broke. It is great for stopping the wind though and it is very durable. Another observation is the grommet inconveniently placed right in the center of the basha, I had to put a leaf of it to stop water getting through which was an inconvenience but not life threatening. No obvious reason for it to be there apart from if I wanted to create a rainwater collector from it, it could become handy. Overall its quite a good peice of equipment but not quite what I was looking for.

not a tarp

First thing I noticed is the quality of the material, very thick and tough. I use this over a hammock, and mount it to the hammock straps to suspend it, as such when I am in the hammock it stretches the basha a little bit, which was concerning at first, but after 8 days of partying and jumping in to the hammock blackout drunk, it is no worse for wear than when it was new. i can only think of one word for that, Durable! It also protected my campsite from burglars the entire time, which must be attributed to the intimidating awesomeness of the Flecktarn pattern. noboby wants to trigger a blitzkrieg upon themselves. overall, perfect Basha, just buy it already.

Thanks for putting the time into submitting a review Niki. Good to hear you didn't get any of your stuff stolen, we are big fans of the Flecktarn here. - Ben @ Army and Outdoors.
