Description

These Y-straps were designed for use with the Soviet M69/73 uniform and saw service right up until the fall of the Soviet Union. Mass produced throughout the Cold War period, these are an iconic piece of Soviet history. The core of the straps are made from canvas but like all things Soviet, have a rubberized brown coating that looks like leather from a distance (got to keep up appearances to Western powers and generals alike). It also gives the straps a fantastic amount of resistance to abrasions and a great amount of strength/weather proofing. The shoulder 'pads' aren't very soft, however they will distribute weight a bit more broadly on your shoulders. Both the pads and the straps are fully adjustable and can weave almost any belt through the bottom loops.

Often the first port of call for any Western action film depicting soldiers from the Eastern bloc, these are a quintessential bit of Soviet kit. Complete your Soviet web set for your next airsoft skirmish, film production or Russian militaria collection.

pretty good, I'm not sure if I'm using it properly though

Not damaged, though one of the bottom loops on the suspenders was missing the little leather strap that tightens it, and it took me an embarrassingly long amount of time to use properly with a belt given the lack of information online I was able to find about how it worked. In fact I have no clue if I'm currently using it incorrectly or if the back suspender was somehow fitted backwards, but regardless it works great as long as you can devise three points for it to connect onto your belt in whatever dodgy way necessary. Absolutely needed in any case if you're trying to make a soviet early cold war outfit.
