Description
Kazakhstan adopted their current flag in 1992 a few years after the fall of the Soviet Union and their own transition into a Republic. The flag has a large blue background which is of religious significance to Turkic peoples and also represents the sky and water. The sun is featured in the centre with a eagle flying below it, which has featured in Kazakh tribes symbolism for centuries.
The flag has a white strip on the side with two metal eyelets.
