Description
This German flecktarn jacket is a high quality, lightweight, and waterproof piece of clothing. The flecktarn pattern is a favourite among camouflage enthusiasts making this jacket an excellent outer layer for the colder times. These ''water vapour permeable 3-layer laminate'' garments have a breathable, waterproof and windproof quality, thanks to the clever construction. Being German, the permeable membrane is likely Sympatex (even better than Gore-Tex) though manufacture varies and these are dated around the 1990's.
Keep the cold wind out with its full zip along with the button-up storm flap and hood drawstring. With adjustable cuffs and a waist drawstring this jacket is sure to fit you comfortably. The jacket also features two button-up waist pockets for you to store the essential items on you at all times.

Had this a year and used as my primary rain coat, which I wear casually to uni etc. Has a great pattern which isn't too bright. Very durable quality; haven't had any issues with the materials, zipper, etc. The hood fits well and has big pockets. Keeps the weather out and has heaps of room for layers underneath. Velcro on the shoulders provides good room for your patches too, and can be sewn. A good buy; very happy!

The german waterproof jacket is pretty good value for money. You still need to have warm layers underneath in cold weather, but it is wind proof and so far waterproof. bit noisy for quite bush hunting, but would be ok in the rain. Could have used some extra pockets. Overall does the job keeping you dry, although a bit on the short side, maybe I got the shorter version? Next time Ill buy something with more insulation and more length and more pockets.

I bought my jacket new a number of years ago from the 'K' Road store, and have no regrets. It's worn well, is easily maintained with NikWax once a year, and still looks Flecktarn-Classy. The breathable SympaTex prevents perspiration build-up so well that I've worn a business suit under it! Buy the matching trousers if they're available (I did) - they form a great storm-proof combination.
