Description

The F1 pack was issued to French soldiers for field exercises and short trips. It's a perfect size for day trips and the rugged construction makes it useful for battling rough weather conditions. Made from a water resistant rubberised canvas material to keep the contents dry and protected - though this exterior coating is worn down on many packs. The 20 liter size is split up into three compartments covered by a top flap. On the back is a pocket and the lightly padded shoulder straps. Underneath, the pack features straps for holding a poncho or tarp. The French Army have already tested these packs on the field, now they're here for you to take on your adventures! Ideal for day trips, travel or expand your French military collection.

Updated review (original review 4 years ago) ...

Four years later this bag is still fully intact, fully waterproof, and giving good service carrying an often heavy load when I'm out in the bush trapping.

Pros: Indestructible, waterproof. Holds a decent amount of stuff and you can strap a decent amount outside.

Cons: Opening and closing takes some time. Looks a bit uggo. Bigger downside is comfort. The straps aren't padded at all, and the bag loses structure when fully laden.

Overall not a bad bag, but I wouldn't try and use it for any prolonged periods of time with heavy loads.

French Day Pack

Well-made bag ideal for serious outdoor use. Mine is a replacement for the cotton/canvas bag British-Army type previously used when I go trapping, and a marked improvement with its waterproof material, compartments, and durable fittings. A seriously good item of kit, and a bit of a bargain.
