Description

*Note* Our latest batch may have minor compromised waterproofing capabilities, with small holes or damage to the waterproofing membrane

Unlike the fluorescent pack covers you see cyclists wearing, military rucksack covers are intended for camouflage rather than high-visibility. It works by covering up hard edges created by the pack which stand out in a natural environment. These covers should have a reasonably baggy fit to soften the shape of the pack, making the camouflage more effective.

The Dutch issued these rain covers in both DPM and woodland camouflage to go over their DPM Rucksack (pack pictured for cover example, not included). Measuring in at about 120cm x 130cm, these covers will fit over 65-110 litre bags. It secures over the back of the pack by tightening the two elasticated drawcords at the top and bottom. When you want to remove it, the cover will even pack down into its own sewn-on carry bag.

Features:

  • Genuine Dutch Army surplus
  • Highly adjustable elasticated drawcord to fit over medium-large sized packs
  • Sewn-on carry sack
  • Ripstop fabric

Not Waterproof

As I suspected the cover no longer has any water resistant qualities. I tested it under the shower, just to be sure, saturated immediately. This is to be expected with such an old pieceofequipment. However, the waterproofing can be re-established by simple application of Scotchgard (Outdoor sun & water shell), or any other waterproofing product, by spraying it on the outside. Like all waterproof material these days it will need regular maintenance.

Otherwise, excellent delivery time, along with the other products I purchased.
