Description

*Note* Due to large numbers of manufacturing/decades of production, the colour hues & cotton weave varies a large amount. See last photo for an example. These will be picked at random

Originally used for carrying ones food rations, this canvas Czech bread bag is not limited to just bread. A convenient size for every day use, they also have a non removable adjustable strap which you can use as a shoulder bag. Otherwise you can tuck the strap in and hang it off a belt as most bread bags were intended with the two metal hooks. The inside has 3 pockets along the back to compartmentalize your gear as well as a large main compartment. Made from brutally simplistic robust canvas - they will probably outlast you, they don't make like this anymore!

Features:

  • Genuine Czech Army surplus
  • Adjustable fixed shoulder strap
  • Three pockets on back of the interior. Several slots on front flap (for pens or eating utensils)
  • 4 attachment rings on the back corners
  • Belt-loop straps with hooks

Size: Approx 26cm W x 23cm H x 10cm D
Content: Cotton canvas (weave varies)
Colour: Wide variance between 'khaki' & browns (picked at random)
Condition: Used/Good -  Item is well used. There may be marks/stains/scratches or repairs, but it is still in functioning order. If you want more information on our condition ratings, check out our condition guide

Love these bread bags, have so many uses and material is ideal for waterproofing. Not sure what I'll use it for yet but it will last forever.

Czech Breadbag

I bought one of these recently and absolutely love it! These bags are high quality, rugged, reliable, and have fantastic features.

the main compartment has great capacity and the 3 internal dividers are sized perfectly, with two smaller ones to hold a canteen, cleaning kit kit, or other similarly sized items and a 3rd larger one perfect for a mess tin or small lunchbox.

the main compartment has a single buckle at the top, allowing you to tighten the bag towards your body to help with weight distribution thus reducing any flapping or bouncing as you walk.

the main flap on the outside is secured by two buckles on the bottom corners.
On the outside of the flap are several loops, three on top and one towards the bottom. I believe the two side ones are intended to hold the belt hooks in place to stop them flapping when not in use, but are perfect for attaching bottles like the Czech M60 canteen by looping the belt loop of the leather carrier through the loop then closing the stud, allowing you to leave the carrier attached when you unbuckle the bottle to use it. (https://www.armyandoutdoors.co.nz/products/czech-army-m60-canteen)

the two centre loops are perfect for attaching a German-style mess kit by using a mess kit strap and passing it through the loops before buckling it around your mess tin. (https://www.armyandoutdoors.co.nz/products/german-leather-mess-kit-strap)

the shoulder strap is the perfect width to be comfortable yet easy to stow away when not in use. having the ability to hook the bag onto a belt is a game changer compared to a traditional shoulder bag. sometimes having a big strap in the way is impractical or restrictive, being able to hook the bag onto a belt gives a great way to get the strap out of the way while still being able to carry the bag hands-free.

a fantastic method that I recently discovered is that you can loop the belt hooks around and connect them to the D-rings at the base of the strap. (the photos don't show it well but there are D-rings behind the belt straps)

This allows you to attach the bag to your belt without fear of it becoming unhooked, by using straps like a belt loop, creating a more secure way to attach the bag to a belt (or anything else you could loop through, perhaps to the frame of a bicycle or through Molle loops on a larger pack?)

these bags are fantastic and I cannot recommend them enough. I myself intend to pick up two more as they're a perfect candidate for use as Saddlebags on a Bicycle or Motorbike.

I urge you to get in quickly before they all disappear! cause once other people start to figure out how great these bags are they'll be gone before you can say "ta taška je skvělá"
