The flag of Azerbaijan was adopted originally from 1918-1920 and then revived again in 1991. The blue symbolizes Azerbaijan's Turkic heritage, the red stands for progress and the green represents the nations religious majority - Islam. 

The flag has a white strip on the side with two metal eyelets.
