Description
The current Ecuadorian Flag was adopted in 1835 and the coat of arms added in 1900. The image on the coat of arms contains the mountain Chimborazo, while the river below represents the Guayas. Coincidentally the ship pictured is also named Guayas, and was the first seaworthy ship built in the South Americas. Atop of the coat of arms is a condor, suggestive of the nations power.
The flag has a white strip on the side with two metal eyelets.
