Description
Mozambique adopted their flag in 1983. It is one of the few flags in the world that sports a firearm (an AK47 with bayonet attached). The AK47 is crossed with a farming mattock over the top of a open book. The rifle stands for the defense of Mozambique, the hoe stands for the country's agriculture. The open book displays the knowledge of power and the golden star represents Marxism.
The flag has a white strip on the side with two metal eyelets.
