Description

Jungle boots are a type of combat boot that was designed for jungle environments or hot, wet and humid conditions. They have vent holes and a canvas upper to aid in ventilation and moisture drainage. First tested in Panama and then used in WWII, but most notably, during the Vietnam war where they were in their natural habitat.

Enough of the history though, these are styled off the original US Military boots. The quality canvas and nylon upper is breathable yet strong. There is also a metal shank inside the sole. No this is not a James Bond style hidden knife, it's actually for protection from bamboo stake traps or other things that could penetrate the sole. If you're going outdoors, these are the boots you'll be needing.

*Note* These are not the original GI Jungle boots. We do not rate these for military use.

Features:

  • Canvas and nylon upper
  • Steel shank
  • Rubber "Panama" style sole
  • Leather toe, heel and lace area

Sizing: The "W" at the end of a size stands for wide. US shoe sizes are one size larger than the NZ/AU standard measurement. A US size 10 = NZ/AUS size 9. For more information on boot sizes, check out our sizing guide.

Very Sturdy Boot for outdoor applications

This is an amazing boot, the wear-in period is about a week if you saturate them in water and wear them damp, the wetness helps the leather to form to your foot and the way it bends. They have a structured toebox. The sole is brilliant for the wet as it grips wonderfully, it fails on slimy rocks, as does most boots. Great in the mud, the gap between the middle of the ball of the foot and the lugs around the outside on the outsole always grip in mud. the heel of the outsole can get clogged up but easily becomes unclogged with a kick against a log or somesuch. You definately want an insole as the inside of the boot has a uncomfortable part between the heel area and the rest of the inside of the boot, completely fine with an insle however. The vents work very well in forcing water out. the gusset on the tounge runs from the start of the tounge to the top of the boot, extremely effective in blocking stuff getting in, pair that with having paracord as laces wrapped around the top of the boot underneath the nylon trim, it becomes a sealed unit, essenially becoming a gaiter and boot in one. the boot does get rid of water but if you have socks that retain water they wont work as well. I have not observed any seperation of the upper from the sole. Bottom line, Highly sugguest Rothco's Repro of the classic jungle boot, it thrives in our tropic enviroment

Excellent boot. Comfortable. Gives good traction. Panama sole does great negotiating muddy terrain. Great boot for playing gelsoft skirmushes and milsim.

Very good river boot.

Great if you are doing a lot of river crossings. Vents pump water out and rubber soles have extremely good traction on rocks. Because they are not lined I buy a size up and fit 2 inner soles and 2 pairs of socks.

Bought a pair on the fly for use at work, wore them for just over a week and one boot has already made its way to the shoebox in the sky. The upper has started to seperate from the sole and the leather has worn thin in some places

Great quality, good value for money

The boots are sturdy and strong, without taking away from the comfort. Well worth the money! I recommend these boots.
